The Stillness That Strengthens
There’s a sacred power in stillness that quiet, unhurried space where heaven meets the human heart.
But let’s be honest, stillness doesn’t come easily. We live in a world that celebrates motion, noise, and busyness. Our phones buzz, our calendars overflow, and our minds are rarely silent. Yet, in the middle of all that noise, God whispers, “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)
Stillness is not the absence of movement; it’s the presence of peace. It’s the calm that comes when we realize we don’t have to fight every battle in our own strength. It’s the quiet assurance that even when life feels uncertain, God’s plan remains unshaken.
When you stop trying to hold everything together, you begin to sense that He already is.
It’s in the stillness that strength is renewed, that clarity comes, that hearts are healed. Elijah discovered this on the mountain — God wasn’t in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire. He came in a gentle whisper. (1 Kings 19:11–12)
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
So maybe this week, the most powerful thing you can do isn’t another meeting, another task, another scroll through your feed maybe it’s a pause. A deep breath. A soft prayer.
Close your eyes, let go of the day’s rush, and simply say, “Lord, I’m here. I’m listening.”
Stillness isn’t wasted time; it’s sacred time. It’s where weary hearts find strength and anxious minds find peace.
Reflection for the Week:
Take 10 quiet minutes each day no music, no distraction. Just you and God. Let your soul exhale. Watch how peace begins to rise like the morning sun.
